This was our first full day in Chiang Mai.
Helen did laundry and we made a makeshift drying area on our
small balcony.
AIS Store in Maya Shopping Center |
The young gal that helped us clearly had swapped out foreign sim cards for local pre-paid sim cards many times. Ten minutes later we were up and running with local cellular voice and data service.
We then wandered Maya looking around in this large
upscale shopping center. Starbucks was
there with a cup of coffee at 120 baht ($3.43).
From Tom 'n' Toms we wandered down Nimana Haeminda Road. We turned left onto a side street that parallels the main road, Huay Kaew, until we hit a dead end.
We discovered a nice hotel / restaurant called Art Mai. We hope to have dinner there some evening.
We wandered the back way to the Pansook. Along the way we found a 7-11 where we purchased two large containers of water for 38 baht each ($1.18).
We learned from another expat that these six-liter bottles can be refilled at a water filter kiosk for 1 baht per liter. There is a water filter kiosk near the Green Market on Saijai Road, just one road toward the KSK shopping center from our street.
Dinner was at a totally mediocre restaurant called Kincen at
the Kad Suan Kaew (KSK) shopping center.
Travel Tips
