Visit with an Old Friend

While we lived in Bangalore, India (2005 - 2007), we befriended a Brit names Shelia.  Shelia left India and moved to Chiang Mai four years ago.

She is planning to leave Chiang Mai at the end of March so we were grateful that we had a opportunity to catch up before her departure.

We took Shelia out to lunch at the Black Canyon Coffee Shop in the Kad Suan Kaew shopping center.

We also made plans to visit her at her home in Hang Dong, located south of the airport.

Night Market

Street Vendors on Chang Klan Road

We took our first Uber ride this evening to the Night Bazaar near the Le Meridien Hotel.

There are buildings on Chang Klan Road dedicated to the Night Bazaar.  Street vendors also set up stalls on the sidewalks to hawk various wares.

After walking the streets for a bit, we decided to head to the Tha Phrae Gate of the Old City to engage in the night bazaar held there.

The crowds in the Old City were overwhelming.  It was wall to wall people with vendors selling hand made goods, musicians, and food stalls everywhere.
